Rumilia

Was ist aus Rumilia geworden? Meinem ewigdauernden Experiment mit dem nahtlosen Raglan-von-unten mit Rundpasse? Sie war das älteste UFO überhaupt. Bis Armausschnitten hat ja alles schnell geklappt, dann aber wollte meine Idee technisch nicht aufgehen, Ribbelmonster hat sich 5 Mal eingemischt, Sehnenentzündung und Unlust behinderten mich. Dazu noch war Garn alle, und ich war kurz davor, das Experiment aufzugeben. Der Himmel schickte mir daraufhin eine gute Fee (Sigrid, herzlichen Dank!), die mir den Hinweis auf die Quelle für das Garn zuflüsterte. Nach so viel himmlischer Unterstützung raffte ich mich auf, und plötzlich war alles ganz einfach! Mit diesem Pullover beende ich meine Strickphase von einfachen und unifarbenen Basics und widme mich wieder Unikaten, die vor Farbe nur so sprühen werden. :-)

What happened to Rumilia? My everlasting experiment with seamless, bottom-up-raglan-joke sweater? It was my longest UFO ever. Everything went well until armholes shaping, but from that point on my idea of it technically just did not work. Having unraveled 5 times, struggling with my disinclination to work on it further, with my tendonitis and, oh Dear, I ran out of yarn as well; I was close to giving it up. But the Heaven was good to me and sent me a good fairy (thanks a lot Sigrid!), who whispered the precious information where to source missing yarn. After receiving so much help I pulled myself together and then suddenly everything was a piece of cake. This sweater marks down the end of my phase of knitting easy, basic garments in plain colours. I will spend future time on knitting one of a kind jackets which will explode with colors. :-)

Silberpfade - Silver alleys

Es war ein Strickerlebnis besonderer Art. Vergleichbar weder mit einem minuziösen Entwerfen, noch mit einem Freeform-Stricken direkt aus dem Bauch heraus, noch mit Stricken nach Anleitung. All die Nuancen des Kreierens zwischen diesen drei Methoden beschreiben es nicht.

Es ist ein sich Fallenlassen in das Schöpfungsprozess und Vertrauen darauf, dass die eigene Urkreativität etwas Wunderbares, Kunstvolles und Wertvolles vollbringen wird. Ihr wurden lediglich Werkzeuge in die Hände gelegt, sie lenkte dann gefühlvoll und mit vorher gewähltem Rhythmus ihr intuitives Tun und spielte mit Garn und Nadeln bis es vollbracht war. Mein erstes Wandbild. Wie sich wohl jeder Lehrling lange zum Meister übt, so bedarf es in diesem Tun noch viel Schliff. Der Lerneffekt war jedoch riesig und es eröffneten sich viele neue Horizonte.

One of a kind

It was a very special knitting experience. Neither comparable with donnishly designing or with intuitive freeform knitting or with knitting patterns. All three methods of creative process and all nuances between them can not describe it well.

It is, as if you would sink into the divine God’s Creation and would totally confide in your ultimate creativity being sure that it would perform something beautiful, artistic and precious. My creativity just needed the right medium to express its lyric and predefined rhythm of intuitive action and played there with yarns and needles till it was done. My first mural. Practice makes perfect; no doubt that I would certainly need to make lot of improvements and would still need to learn a lot. But the learning effect was already huge and it expanded my knitting horizon in so many ways.
